ARCHAEOLOGY fans can learn all about the treasures that can be found under car parks during the next meeting of Stafford and Mid Staffordshire Archaelogical Society.

The talk, called Digging up Cottonpolis, will be at St Bertelin’s Church in Eccleshall Road on April 25 at 7.30pm.

The talk is by Dr Mike Nevell, director of Manchester University’s Archaeology unit, who will reveal all about the remains of Manchester’s first cotton mill being discovered under the university car park. TV presenter Tony Robinson and the Channel 4 Time Team members helped excavate it.
