MEET Connor, a canine celebrity who is a very lucky dog indeed to be enjoying his moment of fame.
The 10-month-old boxer has been selected as one of the stars of a new Pets at Home TV advert, after being filmed frolicking on the beach at Barmouth with his owners Harry Hobson, aged 55, and Clifford Kavanagh, 33, of Aldersleigh Drive, Wildwood.
But Connor is fortunate to be around to see himself on the small screen.
He is recovering from the life-threatening illness meningitis, and his owners aim to use his moment in the spotlight to alert dog owners to the risks.
"Nine out of 10 people we speak to have no idea that dogs can get meningitis," said Mr Hobson, a retired police officer who is now a care worker.
"Connor was very subdued and had a stiff neck but we didn't realise anything was seriously wrong until we took him to the vets."
His partner Mr Kavanagh, also a care worker, paid tribute to Stafford's Parkhouse Vets, and the specialist Willows veterinary referral service in Birmingham, where Connor was also treated, for saving his life.
"They did a brilliant job, he said. And I'd remind people to make sure their pets are insured, because the bill for treating Connor ran into thousands and we couldn't have managed without insurance."
The couple now plan to celebrate their pet's recovery by fund-raising for the Animal Health Trust.
Meanwhile Connor is back to his normal bouncy self.
"He is very affectionate and a real character," Mr Hobson said. "He is so friendly."
