A STAFFORD carer will run the Stafford Half Marathon to raise money for a charity that helps people with disabilities train their dogs.

Valerie Hickson, aged 29, from Stafford, was inspired to raise money for Dog Assistance in Disability (Dog AID) while caring for Caroline Lewis, whose life was transformed when her German Shepherd Sera was trained with the charity.

Valerie, said: “Thanks to the training Caroline is able to have some independence and not always rely on others to pick up a dropped item or open a door as Sera can do it for her.”

The Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, March 16. Valerie is pictured with Caroline and Sera.
