CHURCHES across Stafford have joined forces to mark Good Friday in the town centre.

This afternoon’s events include a short service in Market Square and a wooden cross being carried through the town centre, to symbolise Jesus’ journey to His crucifixion at Calvary.

At St Mary’s Church there will be a devotional hour at 1pm and from 2pm to 3pm there will be a liturgy for Good Friday.

Tomorrow there is an Easter vigil at St Mary’s Church at 7.30pm and on Sunday – Easter Day – there are services at 8am and 9.30am and St Chad’s hosts a service at 11am.
