Stafford court canteen needs ‘major improvement’

THE canteen at Stafford’s county and crown courts needs ‘major improvement’, says the Food Standards Agency.

The Eurest Services canteen at The Combined Court Centre, Victoria Square, Stafford, received a food hygiene rating of one (major improvement necessary) following an inspection on July 3, 2014.

The majority of businesses in Stafford bagged a top rating of five, but Eurest Services was the only Stafford business to receive a one-star rating in the fresh round of inspections in July.

Heather Wilhelms commented on the Newsletter Facebook page: “Check this out; rating of one for the courts in Victoria Square. Bad news for the judges, barristers and jury!”

Clinton Rowling, communications manager for Eurest Services, said: “Food safety is our number one operational priority and we take such matters very seriously.

“We were naturally very disappointed with this EHO rating. Remedial actions were put in place immediately and significant steps were taken to rectify the issues raised and ensure that the highest standards are maintained.”

The court was unavailable to comment on the rating.
