AN INDEPENDENT Stafford business will be taking on some of the giants of industry in a national awards ceremony next month.

Stafford Tile and Flooring has been nominated in four categories in the Tile Association annual awards, taking place in London in April.

The business, which is owned by Pete Davis and Chris Baldwin, is based in Newport Road, Stafford.

The company has been nominated in the Independent Retailer of the Year category, while Mark Pears, who manages the Stafford centre, has been nominated in the Employee of the Year category.

The company works closely with South Staffordshire College, and takes on apprentices from there every year.
