KATHARINE House Hospice is calling on local golfers to support “Swing Fore Katharine” their charity mixed golf day to help celebrate its 25th anniversary.
Registration is now open for the event, which takes place at Brocton Hall Golf Club on Thursday, June 19, promising a challenging day of golf in with the added benefit of raising funds for a vital local cause.
Event fund-raiser James Lunney said: “Last year’s event was close to a sell-out and nearly half the teams have sold already for this year’s event so we encourage people to register as soon as possible.
“We hope to sell out in our Silver Jubilee year and maximise the vital funds for the hospice. We are delighted to hold the event at Brocton Hall and their kind support keeps means more funds go to the hospice.
“After the good weather it will be great for golfers to get back on the course and get back in to the swing of things by registering for a great days’ golf.
“With the event taking place in June there is plenty of time to practice if your game is a little rusty!”
Prizes will be awarded for first to third places for those playing in the morning and also separately for those playing in the afternoon.
This year also see a trophy being introduced to be engraved with the overall winners’ initials.
“At only £30 to £50 per person depending on the package taken it promises to be a wonderful day for golfers of all levels of ability, in stunning surroundings.
“We would suggest that interested golfers register now to ensure their place on the day as there is sure to be a high demand.”
Swing Fore Katharine is once again being generously supported by Western Power Distribution, Pickering and Butters and Milford Hall Cricket Club, whose support ensures the maximum funds can be raised for the Hospice.
As well as entering teams, local businesses also have the opportunity to put there company on course by sponsoring a hole for £100 (they can provide graphics and company literature to display near the tee and in the event programme).
Interested golfers or corporate sponsors can contact James on 01785 270808 or email@example.com or download a booking form online at the Hospice website www.khhospice.org.uk
