TRAFFIC was diverted as three fire crews battled a house blaze in Baswich Lane, Stafford, this lunchtime.
The top end of the road, near the Weeping Cross junction was closed for a time after the alarm was raised at 12.38pm.
Crews were called out from Stafford, Rugeley and Penkridge and had the fire under control within 15 minutes. They were still at the scene damping down at 2pm today, and police were diverting traffic in the Weeping Cross area via Porlock Avenue.
A Staffordshire fire service spokeswoman said the cause of the blaze had yet to be established, but all the occupatns of the property were accounted for and were uninjured.
