MORE than 200 job-seekers registered at a Jobs Fair hosted by Stafford College this week.
The event was organised by a partnership involving local charity Stafford Works, Stafford College and Stafford MP Jeremy Lefroy and took place in the college sports hall.
The free event saw 236 people registered, who were able to meet employers from a range of sectors, who had job vacancies on offer, including McDonalds, who were advertising 150 vacancies that need filling immediately.
The wide range of exhibitors included Barclays and HSBC from the banking sector who were promoting their graduate opportunities, Perkins who were advertising their apprenticeship scheme, which has been successfully running for three years now and the Ministry of Defence, who were advertising a range of opportunities.
Information was also available about training courses and free CV and interview preparation advice was on.
Mr Lefroy, whoattended the event commented: “I am committed to ensuring that local job seekers are given the best opportunities to find out what’s on offer. I am really pleased with the good attendance and that job seekers had the opportunity to speak with local firms who are recruiting now.
“There was lots of advice on hand too and anyone who wants help with their job search can attend one of our regular jobs clubs."
