A STAFFORD man has made a Christmas present of two hi-tech fans to Stafford Hospitals A&E department worth around £500.

Jack Hayward, 84, who has been a Chaplaincy Volunteer at the hospital (and the old infirmary) for around 38 years, generously donated two Dyson Hot & Cool Fans to the department.

"I wanted to donate something which would help to make patients comfortable, and the fans are ideal as they can be used for heat or cooling," said Mr Hayward.

Specialty manager, Debbie Duffy, said: ‘We are so grateful to Mr Hayward for these fans – it means that we are able to control the temperature better in individual areas, according to patients’ needs.

"They really are a great Christmas present."
