Stafford pensioner in serious but stable condition after two car smash on A449 at Moss Pit

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a pensioner from Stafford was seriously injured in a two-car pile-up on the A449 at Moss Pit yesterday.

The 75-year-old is in a serious but stable condition at University Hospital of North Staffordshire after the the silver Vauxhall Corsa she was driving collided with a silver Nissan Navara pick-up at around 2pm on Wednesday.

Officers are appealing for witnesses after a road traffic collision in Stafford.

A 51-year-old passenger in the Corsa wass taken to Stafford Hospital with minor injuries while the driver of the Nissan, a 69-year-old man from Stafford, suffered minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.

The road remained closed for around two hours while specially trained officers carried out an examination at the scene.

Anyone who witnessed the crash is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 330 of January 15.
