ALMOST half of Stafford residents will buy their pets presents this Christmas, new research suggests.

The survey, by Birmingham’s Bullring questioned 1,088 adults over 18 and found 48 per cent of residents of the county town planned to spoil their animal friends rotten over the festive season.

Tim Walley, general manager at Bullring, commented: “It’s really interesting for us to see how our shoppers are planning to celebrate Christmas and it seems that the residents of Stafford are planning to spoil their pets as well as their families this December. Christmas jumpers are definitely a strong trend for the festive period, even our iconic bull is wearing one this December.”
