STAFFORD pool star Rob Wharne cruised his way to his fourth successive Stafford Sunday Pool League singles title.
After his recent successes at the Pool World Championship in Blackpool the England international breezed through the qualifying rounds and semi-final.
His Perkins Cue team-mate Dave Barker had a trickier route to the final facing league secretary Dave Whitfield in the semi-final.
The game swung when Whitfield missed a straight black in third frame allowing Barker to clinch the frame on his way to a 4-1 victory.
Wharne made no mistake in the final although coming up against stiff opposition from Barker he used his consistent finishes on the black and potting when there was just the slightest chance to come away victorious 5-2.
In the doubles competition brothers Dave and Mike Barker met Chris Broomhall and Shaun Cooper in the final after both pairings beat their semi-final opponents 3-0.
Bromhall and Cooper did however need a decider to get them through their quarter-final against Russ Pibworth and Stuart Hardy.
In the final the Barker pairing came up with some remarkable safety shots and pots from difficult positions to cruise into a 4-0 victory.
