PUPILS from Parkside Primary School in Stafford spent a messy day ripping up paper and producing collages based on scenes from the Bard's As You Like It .

The art day was part of this year's Stafford Festival Shakespeare's Learning and Participation Outreach Programme, funded by Stafford Gatehouse Theatre, with contributions from Councillor Maureen Compton, Councillor Ian Hollinshead and Stafford District Arts Council.

As the production of As You Like It is set during the 1960s, artists Mark Uttley and Helen Wilson encouraged the children to create work inspired by artists from the period.

In addition to the art workshops, the children will visit Stafford Castle to see their final artwork on show and also watch a performance of As You Like It.
