STAFFORD Prep School year 6 pupils were treated to a fantastic day out courtesy of Impact Tennis and the LTA. Pupils started the day with an hour long tennis fun session at the school where they were taught the basics of scoring and got to play some mini matches. Then they travelled to the Edgbaston Priory club where the worlds top players were preparing for Wimbledon in a WTA tour event. The weather was fantastic and the pupils were able to get up close and personal with the action, Watching the tennis was not the only highlight of the day though, as they got to take part in the Aegon sponsored fun zone. They were taken through three different sets of activities trying Cardio Tennis, skill school where they tried some freestyle tricks and then playing some matches just like the pros they had just seen! Highlight of the afternoon was meeting up with Wimbledon champ Andy Murray’s mum Judy who is the GB Federation Cup captain. • “She was really nice and spent lots of time signing everything from tennis balls to the pupils’ tee shirts,” said Impact Tennis coach Stuart Twigg. • Impact Tennis provides coaching for adults and juniors of all ages and abilities at various venues in Stafford including Stafford Grammar School and Great Bridgeford Tennis Club.
