A CONCERT in honour of brave Stephen Sutton has been cancelled in Stafford tonight due to poor ticket sales.

The concert for Stephen, who offered inspiration by sharing his experiences of terminal cancer, had been due to be on at Couture nightclub in Newport Road tonight.

It had been due to feature a host of tribute acts, including Abba, Kylie Minogue, Michael Jackson, Take That, Jamiroquai, Michael Buble and Lady Gaga.

The plan was to pull in pounds for the Teenage Cancer Trust, which Stephen tirelessly raised money for.

But organiser Sammy Lines said they had only sold 53 tickets as they had struggled to get it advertised.

“It is upsetting but we couldn’t go ahead with so few tickets sold. We are refunding all tickets but if there is anyone who has not yet had a refund then they can contact me and I will sort it out for them.”

Stephen, 19, from Burntwood, died in May following a well-documented battle againstthe illness.

It began when he created a bucket list of things he wanted to achieve and his work to raise money for the organisation which had helped him, brought him attention nationwide.

Stephen was such in inspiration that he was posthumously awarded an MBE in the Queen’s Birthday Honours.

The fund-raising has continued since Stephen’s death, with various events being held around the county.

Anyone who would like to claim their refund should call 01785 246914 and 07414 885465.
