ACTIVITIES ranging from bell-ringing to arts and crafts will be on offer at Stafford’s historic St Mary’s Church on Saturday, July 5.
The town centre church is holding its popular annual Open Day, featuring a host of activities and displays.
The day, which runs from 10.30am to 3pm, includes the chance to climb the bell tower and have a go at bell ringing, guided tours of the historic Grade I listed building, brass rubbing and other arts and crafts for all ages.
There will be music from St Mary’s music group, adult choir and children’s choir, and the day will be rounded off by an informal Songs of Praise, giving visitors the chance to join in with their favourite hymns and songs.
There will also be wedding and baptism displays, a book stall, and home-made cakes and refreshments.
“It is going to be an action-packed day with plenty to see and do, and visitors can be sure of a warm welcome,” said Rev John Davis, town centre chaplain and associate priest at St Mary’s.
