A NEW remote controlled mower is helping cut grassy banks around Stafford borough which were previously difficult to trim.
Workers at the borough council operate the 'Robo-Mower' with a joystick as it cuts the grass on steep banks and slopes.
The mower - nicknamed Shaun after the famous TV sheep - has speeded up, and improved, mowing on areas which employees using strimmers found difficult to get at, such as Stafford Castle and areas of Wildwood Park.
Councillor Frank Finlay, cabinet member for environment and health, said: "This will be a great asset to our team as it will help improve the appearance of some areas that residents often point out to us.
"One of our top priorities is to ensure the borough is cleaner and greener and I expect the addition of this innovative mower will help us achieve this."
