WHEN was the last time you rode a bike?

The Newsletter asked people out and about in Stafford when they were last in the saddle. This is what they said:

Michael Durkin from Coven: “I'm 75 years of age. I don't feel safe on a bike any more. The roads were different in the past - they were safer. I’d like to see more cycle lanes built.”

“I ride my bike daily. I go out with my daughter. We live by the old Doxey train tracks so we go riding round there and to school. I had spinal surgery a few years ago so it’s good exercise.”

Ann-Marie Gardner, 41, from Cannock: “I used to ride to church every Sunday morning.

I'm having a bike for my birthday this month. I love the wind in my face and the birds singing.”

Pam Jones, 73, from Meadows in Stafford:

“I used to until about three years ago. It's not safe around Stafford any more with the traffic. There's not enough cycle routes.”
