TWO Stafford teachers and their pupils rose to the occasion, putting on a bake-sale to raise cash for Stafford Hospital’s Chemotherapy unit.

Hannah Brewer, 29, and Rachel Whitehouse, 30, who both work at Blessed William High Howard High School, cooked up the fundraising scheme alongside students after their friend Emma Parker was treated for breast cancer at the unit.

Ms Brewer, who lives in Stafford, told the Newsletter: “A group of very enthusiastic Year 9 student students baked cakes and worked extremely hard to raise the money which Emma suggested we donate to the unit after she received excellent care there.

Ms Parker’s employer, Stafford Railway Building Society donated £250 to the fundraising effort taking the total raised to £620 which was presented to staff at the chemotherapy department.
