FOOD and drink are on the menu this weekend with Stafford’s first cheese and ale festival on Saturday.
The town’s Market Square will be packed full of stalls from 10am after being opened by Mayor of Stafford Borough, Councillor Ray Sutherland.
Visitors will have the chance to sample a wide range of cheese and ales and there will also be talks and demonstrations, including on ale brewing and recipes from chefs from around the area.
The festival is sponsored by Taste of Staffordshire and is expected to be a great opportunity for producers and breweries to show off their products in the heart of Stafford. If successful organisers hope it will become a permanent fixture on the town event’s calendar.
Chris Lewis, Chair of Stafford Town Centre Partnership, said: “This is really shaping up to be a mouth- watering event. All the businesses are looking forward to showcasing their work in the heart of Stafford and I am sure local people and visitors have already got the date in their diary and will join us from 10am so they don’t miss out on a brilliant day.”
