ANOTHER Stafford store fell to the high street crisis today as HMV announced it was closing the doors of the county town branch.
A spokesman for the beleaguered entertainments giant confirmed the town centre store, which employs 10 members of staff, would shut in the next four to six weeks.
Joint administrator Nick Edwards said the announcement, which saw 37 stores close countrywide, was a step to ‘enhance the prospects of the restructured business continuing as a going concern'.
“We are extremely grateful to the staff for their continued strong support and commitment during an understandably difficult period,” he said.
Mr Edwards said together with the previously identified 66 closures, this latest announcement would leave 116 HMV stores across the country.
