We found we were really struggling to find nice wedding cars locally. We’d seen two beautifully restored old fashioned cars at a wedding fayre but I couldn’t see how we could all fit into them on the day.
As Simon is a mechanic, he has a lot of contacts in the motor trade through work, so we thought it might be worth him asking around.
Simon mentioned our car problem to one of his contacts (he owns a really high quality car sales business that sells cars to the rich and famous) and asked if he knew of anyone that hired out nice wedding cars. When he found out that it was for our wedding he offered to provide our wedding cars free of charge as a wedding gift. How fabulous is that? I’m not sure what type of cars we will be getting but I do know that they will be really expensive and top quality.
Now you’re probably wondering how the photographer fits in to the wedding car blog!
Well, as it happens one of the guys that works for the car sales company (Gary) goes into Simon’s garage quite often - when they deliver and pick up the cars for servicing.
During one of these visits Gary happened to ask if we’d sorted out our photographer yet and we hadn’t really given much though about a photographer at that point if I’m honest. Gary’s wife Kate has her own photography company in Castle Donington called Lucabella Photography, so he put us in touch with her.
So we went to see her at her house one night, and what an advert for a photographer! She had photos and canvases of her children throughout the house and had taken all the photographs herself. She’s got a brilliant website too.
We had a good long chat about what we wanted and she also showed us a DVD of a wedding she’d done recently. It was so relaxed and the quality of her work is, well, breathtaking. I didn’t really need to see anyone else, I was sold. We paid our deposit there and then.
Kate has lots of wedding packages to suit all budgets and does all sorts of other works too, all over the East Midlands.
We’ve got another meeting in a couple of weeks to sort out times and any special photos we particularly want her to take.
It just shows that it’s a small world and you don’t have to look very far for quality.
