NHS 111 Staffordshire has formally launched across the county this week, with Staffordshire Doctors Urgent Care (SDUC) now at the helm.

The advice service for patients first transferred to SDUC last October after NHS Direct pulled out for financial reasons, and an area-by-area introduction of the revised service has been under way since then.

Staffordshire’s NHS 111 service is now being delivered from Arun House, on Stafford Technology Park, and from a base in Campbell Road, Stoke on Trent.

Andy Donald, senior responsible officer for NHS 111 in Staffordshire and chief cfficer of Stafford and Surrounds and Cannock Chase CCGs said: “Patient safety has been of paramount importance in establishing the service.
