STAFFORDSHIRE University has hit back at claims it had the second highest number of student complaints last year.
A report by the BBC said the university had 948 complaints but education chiefs say that figure included appeals and they only had 108 complaints.
"This story is misleading,” a university spokesman said.
“The figures requested under FOI were for the numbers of appeals and complaints received over a number of academic years. Our combined figure for 2012/13 does indeed position us at number two but breakdown of this figure shows that of the 948 total, only 108 are complaints which we believe is reasonable and not excessive for a university of this size.”
