Staffordshire's pioneering fire cadet scheme seeks new recruits

FIREFIGHTERS are launching a county-wide recruitment drive for fire cadets and volunteer instructors.

Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service is calling on 14 to 17-year-olds to apply for its pioneering training scheme, the first of its kind nationally.

The next courses, which run for 39 weeks, will start in September with 14 places available at Stafford Fire Station on Wednesday evenings.

Successful cadets will achieve BTEC Level 2 Certificate in Fire and Rescue Services in the Community.
