STAFFORDSHIRE’S talented young chefs showed off their culinary skills in the annual Young Chef competition.
They spent several hours in the kitchens at Stafford College on Monday, cooking up a storm. The winner Scott Lewis, from Burton College, was crowned during a dinner at the Moat House in Acton Trussell that evening.
Second place went to Stafford College student Thomas Renshaw, while third went to Jade Clark, from the Bull’s Head in Repton.
The competition invites would-be chefs aged 16 to 21 to design a three-course menu, costing less than £20, using seasonal ingredients.
At least six finalists in each category are selected to compete in a two-hour cook-off, where they are observed by a panel of judges.
