THE STAFFORDSHIRE branch of the Royal British Legion this week announced details of this year’s Poppy Appeal and Annual Festival of Remembrance.
A spokesman for the legion said the 2013 Festival of Remembrance would take place on Saturday November 2 at 7pm at Stafford Gatehouse Theatre, with all proceeds going to the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal - which provides assistance to serving and ex-service personnel and their families in times of need.
“The evening will focus on a Parade of Standards from around the county, performances from Chanteuse Choir; the Trentham Brass Band, Joel Campbell - a young rock guitarist - and Lydia Griggs a young singer from Gnosall.
“The performance will also include Community Singing and Service of Remembrance, lead by the Rev. John Davis, which will incorporate the Act of Remembrance, the Poppy Drop and the observation of the traditional Two Minute's Silence.”
Tickets for the event are £10 and available to buy from www.staffordgatehousetheatre.co.uk or by calling by calling 01785 254653.
