Hey! I'm Liz, and I'm the new blogger for the Health and Beauty team! I love writing... Why else would I be here! So I am hoping I'll be able to write some great stuff for you, which I'm really excited about!
I am also a massive cat lover, I have my own beauty called Mitzeee adopted from the fantastic people at the RSPCA. I love to illustrate, enjoy web design and I'm an Xbox girl too! But health and beauty really is my passion.
I’m 20-years-old and am originally from Birmingham but I moved to Stafford in hopes of greener pastures. My partner, and my best friend from the age of 14 or so, moved here for University and always came to visit me back in Birmingham because I was too scared of trains to visit Stafford! But one day, I decided, forget this, I'm coming back with you! And I did!
I was a nervous wreck, but I managed it. His lease was soon up, I'd practically moved in with him by then and I’d fallen in love with Stafford so we got a place together and I've been living here ever since. Life has only been getting better. I soon realised your surroundings and the people you surround yourself with, really DO contribute to your mental and even physical health!
I found beauty to be a massive boost for me. When I was younger, I was the type who never got sick and I was also the type to say (aside from my black nail polish) I never wear make up! But I ended up getting diagnosed with M.E while I was still in secondary school and my health declined from there.
Before I knew it, I was popping into Superdrug to get my prescriptions after visiting the doctor, and began covering my arms in swatches from the store's testers while I was waiting. I loved the rainbow of colours, and soon realised it was a new art form for me! Where my health had made me feel so bad, the colours and the experimenting made me feel much better about myself!
I loved seeing what went together, what didn't, what worked for me, what didn't and from then on, I started buying make up every time I was there! Eventually, my friends on Twitter convinced me to blog about what I thought and since then, I've been blogging about products I've tried, my favourites and generally sharing my opinion with others in the hope that someone would benefit. More recently, I did a post in regards to my health affecting me, the thing that started my obsession, my time spent in Superdrug and how my make up purchases became my own little treat to cheer me up. My readers loved it.
I'm a bundle of medical fun. I have quite a lot of pre-existing medical conditions. I suffer from M.E, Fibromyalgia, IBS, Asthma, Eczema and HMS, just to name but a few! I'm not a text book so you may find a lot of ‘personal experience’ here.
Though, as messy as my handwriting can be and despite my keen medical interest, I am not a Doctor, so my advice written in this blog is what I have tried and what has worked for me and others, but remember what works for one person, may not work for another. Therefore I can not guarantee it will work for you and please don't substitute your GP's advice for this blog. If you intend on taking any advice, it may be worth consulting your GP first, especially if you are under 16 or pregnant.
In this blog I will be giving you some seasonal advice, point out some fabulous trends and help you feel good about yourself! I will also spread my knowledge and raise awareness of health issues along with a few tips from my personal experience.
Coming next... About M.E. As M.E is a topic very close to my heart, I will be writing a post to help shed some light on the condition in the near future!
