CONTRIBUTORS: Owing to differing print days over the Christmas period, please ensure you let me have any contributions for events taking place between 21st December and 7th January by 5pm on December 15th. Thank you.

WI: The meeting on Wednesday, December 11 will be our Christmas Party. Entertainment will be provided by the drama group, who have been busy rehearsing for a while.

CHRISTMAS COFFEE MORNING: This will take place on Tuesday at St John's

Church, from 10-11.30am. There will be Coffee and refreshments, as well as stalls selling Christmas goods and a Grand Raffle Draw.

VILLAGE ELDERS CHRISTMAS PARTY: This will take place on Wednesday, December 11 at 3pm in the Village Hall. If you have not already booked your place then do so now. This is a free event - there's not even a raffle - so you can leave your money at home. Come and enjoy YOUR Christmas Party! Contact Jakkie 502358 or Bakehouse to book your place.

PARISH COUNCIL: The next meeting will take place on Wednesday in Meir Heath and Rough Close Village Hall. The meeting commences at 7.15pm, with the first 15 minutes being dedicated to the fielding of issues from parish residents on matters they feel need to be brought before the Parish Council members. Following the public hearings, the council goes into full session. From this point, only council members are allowed to make representations to the sitting body.

FULFORD CALENDAR 2014: The new calendar is now on sale for £5, with the photos featuring views, wildlife and events in Fulford. All the photos were taken by people who live in the village and include the three winning photos voted for at Fulfest. All profits go into Fulford Village Group funds, so please buy one!

COMMUNITY FIRST RESPONDERS: We are approaching our busiest time of year and are very short of volunteers, having recently lost 4 who have gone to train as full time ambulance staff. We need more people to volunteer. No previous experience is required, as full training is provided by the ambulance service, and experience is gained on the road with other responders. Training to become an intermediate CFR takes about 7 days, usually spread over weekends, plus two shifts on the road with a paramedic. You would be helping to provide a valuable service and as evidenced by the four who have recently left us, it could even lead you into a new job! Contact Mike on 07703475888, Nic on 07736327392 or Mel on 07979694060, or stop for a chat if you see us about.

VILLAGE CHRISTMAS PARTY: This will take place in the Village Hall next Tuesday at 7.15 for 7.30pm

Everyone is welcome. Tickets are available from Hazel Woodward, 505263, Jean Jones, 505116 and Sue Stubbs, 505203.

CHRISTMAS QUIZ NIGHT: The next Quiz Night is Tuesday December 17 at the Green Man. Quizzers should be there at 8pm for 8.30pm prompt start. It's always a fun night, with prizes, food and a raffle. Teams should have no more than four players and the entry fee is £2 per player. Why not come along?

FOOTPATH MAINTENANCE GROUP: In response to a plea from the County Council, Richard and Paul spent a recent Thursday morning renovating and repairing several stiles around the Parish. Wet weather over the previous two days made the going difficult, particularly as one of the stiles was inaccessible by road, which meant a journey across fields in a Subaru. More volunteers are always needed for this work and if you like walking in the countryside, this is a way to ensure you can. E-mail mac@milwich.com or ring Paul on 01889 505472 for more information.

PRODUCE GUILD: The Guild Christmas Party this year will be on Friday, December 13 in All Saints’ Village Hall. Tickets are now available from committee members. For further information, please contact Michael Baggaley on 01889 505209 or m_baggaley@btinternet.com

CHRISTMAS FAYRE: This will take place in the Village Hall on Saturday, from 12noon until 2pm. Turkey baps will be available at 12noon, as well as mince pies, mulled wine, tea and coffee. There will also be various stalls, tombola and games, plus a raffle to in a Christmas Hamper. Entrance is 50p payable on the door and all proceeds will go to St John's Church Funds.

MOTHERS' UNION: Last month members welcomed a speaker from Gideons International, who place Bibles in hotels, hospitals and many other places to spread the word of God. This month they will be having their Christmas Lunch on Thursday, December 19.

FAIR TRADE: The next coffee morning will be on Monday, from 9-11.30am. All the usual stalls will be there with tea and coffee available, as well as Christmas music, mulled wine and mince pies.

CAROL SINGING: Wrap up warmly and join us singing around the village on Tuesday, December 17. We'll be meeting at St. Mary’s Church Hall at 7pm. Children are especially welcome with a responsible adult. If you would like us to sing at your house please let Alison Harman know on 01782 796681 by Sunday, December 15.

WI: The next meeting will be our Christmas Party. It will take place in the Village Hall on Monday December 9 at 7.30 p.m. Please note, the meeting is on the second Monday this month.
