AN ECCLESHALL Scout is making history as the first female recipient of the Queen’s Scout award in the Stone district.

Assistant Explorer Scout Leader Alexandra Penniston, of 1st Eccleshall Scout Group, receives her Queen’s Scout award along with her Duke of Edinburgh Gold award next week at a ceremony in Stone.

She has also been invited to Windsor Castle in April for a formal presentation by a member of the Royal family.

Alex, now aged 21, has been with Eccleshall Scout Group since she joined the Beavers at the age of six.
