THE GARDENING CLUB of STONE CHRYSANTHEMUM AND DAHLIA SOCIETY: The next meeting is on June 12 at 7.45pm in Christ Church Centre. Mark Zenick, an American with a nursery in Didsbury, Shropshire, will give a presentation on The Day Lily – The Poor Man’s Orchid, otherwise known as Hemerocallis. Admission is £1.50 which includes refreshments.

STONE LIONS “FOLLOW YOUR DREAM”: On Tuesday June 3 Stone Lions are hosting an evening at Sandon Hall near Stone to raise funds for the Cannock-based charity, Newlife. Diana Scott will be demonstrating the art of Floral Decoration, with the theme Follow Your Dream. There will also be a selection of quality fashion accessories offered for sale at bargain prices. Tickets cost £10 which includes a glass of wine and are available from Chris Handley on 01785 812027.

STONE LIBRARY: On Tuesday June 3 there will be the free job support club from 12noon until 3pm. The National Careers Service will give advice covering letters, interviews and advice on finding work. The jobcentreplus will help with Universal Jobmatch job search.

WALKWISE: Walking for Health in Stone is a led walk by Stafford Borough which takes place on Tuesdays with a choice of two walks which vary in length. These walks are tailored to the ability of the walkers, and help improve health and meet new people. Meeting point is at 10.45am Westbridge Park by the Scout Hut. Contact 01785 813604 or 811227.

FARMERS’ MARKET: On Saturday June 7 in Stone High Street from 9am.

AGE CONCERN, STONE AND DISTRICT: The coffee mornings are held in the coffee lounge, 15 Station Road, on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 9.45am until 11.15am.

The Lunch Club is at Bromfield Court on Thursdays from 11.45am until 1.30pm.

On alternate weeks a group visit local pubs for lunch. Please phone 01785 817906 to book either one or both.

STONE WI: The meetings are usually held in Christ Church Centre, Stone, at 2pm on the first Wednesday every month. However, the meeting on June 4 is in the evening and will be a mystery trip and a meal out.
