STONE CHORAL SOCIETY CHRISTMAS CONCERT: This ever-popular event will take place on Thursday December 19 at 7.30pm in Christ Church, Stone. The concert will feature John Rutter’s ‘Brother Heinrich’s Christmas’, the Equali Brass Quintet, a number of special choir settings of Christmas music plus the usual chance to join in some well-known, favourite carols. Tickets are £7 (children free) and include wine and a mince pies. See also www.stonechoral.org.uk.

STONE LAWN TENNIS AND SQUASH CLUB: Will be holding a craft fair at the Club on Saturday December 14 from 11am until 4 pm. The stalls will include a members’ cake stall. Refreshments will be available.

ST MICHAEL’S AND ST WULFAD’S CALENDAR 2014: The calendars are now sold out. Thanks go to everyone who bought one.

STONE LIBRARY: There is an a exhibition throughout December by Marie Baskeyfield showing textiles. Stone Advent windows are being unveiled day-by-day with the last one on December 24. The decorated windows will be on display until January 2.

GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND: Woolicrofts solicitors, 51 High Street, have kindly agreed to accept used postage stamps for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. In order for the stamps to be of value a border of envelope needs to be around them.

CRAFTS AND COLLECTABLE MARKET: The next one is on Saturday in the High Street starting at 9am.

STONE RECORDED MUSIC SOCIETY: Next meeting is on Friday December 20 starting at 7.30pm in the building behind Walton Community Centre. This is the Christmas meeting and is members’ choice. Your first visit is free, and you are invited to come and see if you enjoy the music. The Society are sure you will enjoy their company.

CAR BOOT: The next Car Boot at Walton Community Centre will be on January 5.

CHURCH SERVICES: Every household in Stone should have received a list of Christmas Church Services delivered by Churches Together in Stone.

THE INSTITUTE OF ADVANCED MOTORISTS: offers these tips to keep you safe in winter road conditions. Pack an emergency kit for your vehicle; include warm outdoor clothes, a reflective jacket, a torch, spade, a vacuum flask with a hot drink and a fully-charged mobile phone.

CIVIC CAROL SERVICE: will be on Sunday at 3pm at St Michael’s and St Wulfad’s Church attended by Stone Town Mayor and fellow town councillors. This service will be joined by the school choir and everyone is invited to attend.

ST MICHAEL’S AND ST WULFAD’S CAROL SERVICE: will hold parish carols on December 22 at 6pm followed by mulled wine and mince pies. Everyone is invited to attend this lovely service.
