CAROL CONCERT: Walton Community Centre's carol concert is on Sunday at 3pm. The service will be led by Reverend Ian Cardinal and St Michael's First School Choir are performing. All are welcome, free admission and light refreshments will be served.

STONE LIBRARY: Throughout December there will be an art exhibition of textiles by Marie Baskeyfield. During term time only, Baby Bounce and Rhyme every Monday 1030-1100 am. Every first Tuesday, Job Support session 12-3 pm. Free internet access is available, also CDs, videos, DVDs and CD-Roms can be borrowed.

ADVENT WINDOWS: For the fourth year running a giant community Advent calendar is being unveiled day-by-day in Stone shop windows from December 1 to 24. This year the theme is, once again, Christmas carols and there are a record 19 partnerships between shops and schools and other organisations. The decorated windows will remain on display until January 2. For further information call into the Library whose window will be opened on Saturday at 11 am when Walton Priory Middle School, accompanied by Stone Town Band, will sing Hark! The herald angels sing.

ST MICHAEL’S AND ST WULFAD’S CALENDAR: The 2014 calendar, featuring the Priory Seal and fourteen photos of Stone (courtesy of Stone U3A Digital Photography Group) ,is available for £7 from Glenda at the church or Ken Jones, 01785 815195.

GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLIND: Woolliscoft’s Solicitors of 51 High Street have kindly agreed to accept donations of used postage stamps on behalf of the local branch of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. Please ensure any stamps have a border of envelope around them.

FARMERS’ MARKET: This Saturday in the High Street from 9 am.

RECORDED MUSIC SOCIETY: The next meeting will be tomorrow evening at 2.30 pm in the building behind the Walton Community Centre. The narrator will be Don Bayley and subject will be My Music III.

ROYAL AIR FORCES ASSOCIATION: The Stone and District Branch Christmas meeting will be at The Pheasant, Old Road, on Monday December 9 starting at 7pm. The branch meets at the Pheasant on the second Monday of every month. Contact 01889 505094.

U3A STROLLERS: Will meet at Walton Community Centre on Wednesday December 11 in time for an 09.30 departure for Downs Bank. The distance will be 2-3 miles and the going moderate. Contact 01785 813722.

AGE CONCERN: On Tuesday and Friday mornings in the coffee lounge Station Road from 9.45am until 11.15am, there will be tea and coffee for sale. Also a lunch club meets at Bromfield Court on Thursday lunch times from 11.45am until 1.30pm. Fortnightly a lunch club takes place at various places. To book either, contact 01785 817906.
