STONE LIBRARY CONSULTATION: There is a preconsultation in the library until the end of February, called Let’s Talk. Questions are asked about how people want their library to be in the future. It is most important that people take part in the consultation.

A NIGHT AT THE RACES: Stone Town Mayor, Councillor Mrs Jill Piggott, invites you to attend A Night At The Races on Friday March 14 at 7.30pm in Walton Community Centre, Stone. Tickets are £10 per person which includes a light supper. Cash bar facility is available.

Profits go to the Mayor’s chosen charities which are Katherine House Hospice, Stone and District Stroke Club, and Oak Tree Farm Rural Project. Contact 01785 619740

BLUE DIAMONDS: Are a friendly crowd of people who enjoy square dancing and are happy to welcome new members to the club. They meet on Thursday evenings in St Dominic’s Social Centre, Station Road, at 8pm. Contact 01785 811876.

WALTON COMMUNITY CENTRE: Drop in for tea, coffee, toast, all at 30p per item, on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 10.30am until 1pm

WALTON FRIENDSHIP CLUB: meets on Mondays from 2pm until 3.30pm (except on the second Monday in the month). Enjoy a game of bingo and social chat. There is also a sales table and raffle. Cost is £1 a week including light refreshments.

AGE CONCERN, STONE AND DISTRICT: Coffee mornings in the coffee lounge, Station Road, on Tuesday and Friday mornings 9.45am until 11.15am. Thursday lunch club is at Bromfield Court, 11.45am until 1.30pm. On Tuesdays, fortnightly, a group have lunch at a variety of local pubs. To book either, contact 01785 817906.

ROYAL AIR FORCES ASSOCIATION: The Annual Dinner takes place at Stone Golf Club on Wednesday March 5 starting at 6.45pm. Non-members are welcome to attend and the cost is £16 per person, admission by ticket only. Contact 01889 505094

ST MICHAEL’S HALL: The trustees and management committee are hosting a quiz night to raise funds for the hall. Teams of up to six people are welcome. The cost is £6 per person which includes light refreshments. Contact Nicola, 01785 814134, to book your team/individual place.

WOMEN’S WORLD DAY OF PRAYER SERVICE: The service has been prepared by Christian Women in Egypt and will be celebrated throughout the Christian World. Stone’s service will be held in St Dominic’s Catholic Church on Friday March 7 at 2pm. Men also are welcome to the service. The speakers are Dr Ibraham and Dr Salib. Refreshments are available after the service.

TUNEFUL TOTS: This is a volunteer run group for babies and toddlers and the singing sessions are on Wednesday mornings in St Dominic’s Social Centre at 9.30am and 10.30am. The cost is £1.50 per family which includes drinks, fruit and biscuits.
