AGE CONCERN STONE AND DISTRICT: Coffee mornings are held in the coffee lounge, 15 Station Road, on Tuesday and Friday mornings 9.45am until 11.15am. The Lunch Club meets every Thursday in Bromfield Court from 11.45am until 1.30pm. There is also a luncheon club which travels round to various pubs and hostelries on Tuesday lunchtimes.

MEDITATION GROUP: A group meets every Monday evening in St Dominic’s Convent in the library at 7.30pm prompt. This is a Christian group and all people are welcome. Access is through the big wooden door in Station Road and ring the convent bell on the left. The format is an opening prayer followed by a short piece of music, a talk from a CD, a 20 minute meditation then a closing prayer. If you would like to attend but can’t commit to every week just attend when you can. Contact Bernie, 01785 749548.

U3A STROLLERS: The meeting point is Walton Community Centre leaving at 9.30am on Wednesday January 22. The area to be walked will be decided on the day due to the exceptional wet weather. It is the responsibility of each member to ensure they are suitably dressed. Contact 07870 825644.

WALTON FRIENDSHIP CLUB: Meets on a Monday from 2pm until 3.30pm except for the second Monday in the month. Join in for a game of bingo and a chat. There is also a sales table and a raffle. Make new friends, all for £1 a week.

WALTON COMMUNITY CAFÉ: Meets on Monday and Wednesday mornings from 10.30am until 1pm. Light refreshments and chat, all welcome.

CHURCHES TOGETHER IN STONE: A Week of Prayer for Christian Unity begins on Saturday in Christ Church at 8.30am with an ecumenical prayer meeting followed by breakfast. There will be services throughout the week in other churches in Stone as part of the this Prayer Week Unity which is a world-wide event.

TUNEFUL TOTS: Meet at St Dominic’s Social Centre, Station Road, every Wednesday morning for babies and toddlers. The singing sessions are 9.30am and 10.30am. A contribution of £1.50 per family is asked for and this includes drinks, fruit and biscuits.

STONE LIBRARY: Monday morning during term time there is Baby Bounce and Rhyme from 10.30am until 11am for age 0-18 months.

CAR BOOT: Next Car Boot at Walton Community Centre will be on Sunday January 19 from 8.30am until 12noon. Cost of inside table, which is provided, £5; outside, provide your own table, £4. Tea, coffee and light refreshments available. Contact Andrea, 01785 813461.

STONE RECORDED MUSIC SOCIETY: Meets in the building behind Walton Community Centre at 7.30pm The next meeting is on January 24, the theme is (K)night of the Thistle, and is narrated by Don Massey. New members welcome to attend to see if they would enjoy the music. Contact Geoff, 01785 817402.

ST MICHAEL’S AND ST WULFAD’S CHURCH CHOIR: Come and join in this happy band of singers to help lead the worship of the Church. If you cannot read music do not worry help is at hand. Contact David Stott after a Sunday’s service in Church, at choir practice in Church on Friday evenings at 7.30pm or telephone 01782 259363.

MESSY CHURCH : In St Michael’s Hall on Saturday from 3pm until 5.30pm for children and their families or carers. Join in fellowship, food and crafts. All are welcome.
