CHORAL SOCIETY: On Saturday, January 18, 10am to 4pm, in St Dominic’s Priory School Hall, Station Road, there will be a wonderful opportunity to improve your singing. Harriet Johnson, a voice specialist, who is also the Society’s Music Director, will be holding a workshop centred on John Rutter’s ‘Requiem’. The cost will be £12 per head, payable at the door. TOWNSWOMEN’S GUILD: Will be meeting again on Wednesday, January 15, at 2.15pm in Bromfield Court Community Room situated just off Radford Street. Diane Scott will give a talk about the charity Support Dogs which helps those with disabilities such as deafness and other problems, not just as guide dogs for the blind. Guild meetings are held every third Wednesday in the month at Bromfield Court. The Guild is a crowd of friendly ladies and newcomers are always welcome. ROYAL BRITISH LEGION: The Women’s Section of the Stone Branch of the Legion is planning a St Valentine’s Evening in mid February. This event raises funds for the Legion whilst providing a lively, enjoyable night out in Stone. Tickets will be on sale soon. For more details contact Ann, 01785 760492, or Jenny, 01785 812572.

CHURCHES TOGETHER IN STONE: Are holding a week of prayer for Christian unity

starting on Saturday January 18 at Christ Church at 8.30am with an ecumenical prayer meeting followed by breakfast. The churches of St Saviour’s, Aston-by-Stone, St Dominic’s, and St Michael’s and St Wulfad’s will also be holding services during that week.

DROP INN CAFÉ LUNCHES: The lunches restart on Tuesday January 14 between 11.30 and 1pm in St Michael’s Hall. There is soup, sandwiches, tea and coffee at reasonable prices.

MESSY CHURCH: On Saturday, January 18, in St Michael’s Hall from 3pm to 5.30pm. This is for families, carers and children who are unable to get to church on a Sunday. Join in with food, fellowship and crafts. Everyone has an enjoyable time.

SOCIAL DANCING: In St Dominic’s Community Centre, Station Road, on Saturday from 8pm until 11pm. There is a cash bar and raffle tickets will be on sale.

STONE LIBRARY: During term time Baby Bounce and Rhyme every Monday morning, 10.30am until 11am for age 0-18months. A mixed-media art exhibition of work by John and Eleanor Cathcart will be held throughout January.

WI CRAFT GROUP: Will be meeting in the library on Wednesday January 15 from 10am until 12noon. Contact Mrs Whittle, 01785 615855.

RECORDED MUSIC SOCIETY: Tomorrow evening in the building behind the Walton Community Centre at 7.30pm. Pam Jones will narrate “Nature”.

BINGO: Tuesday and Thursday evenings starting at 8pm in St Dominic’s Social Centre, Station Road.
