ADULT LEARNERS’ WEEK, JUNE 14-21: This is a celebration of lifelong learning. Adults who continue to learn throughout their lives are usually healthier, happier and have greater self confidence and self esteem. Stone Library will have different adult activities and are helping encourage new skills and refresh old ones. There is a country-wide events calendar on www.alw.org.uk

WOMEN’S INSTITUTE CRAFT GROUP: meet in the library on Wednesday from 10am to 12 noon. They are planning a piece of embroidery for next year to celebrate 100 years of WI. Prospective members are welcome.

ST JOHN’S METHODIST CHURCH: are holding a coffee morning at Guide Headquarters on Westbridge Park on Saturday June 21 from 10am until 12 noon. The church services are held in Walton Priory Middle School on Sunday mornings and evenings. Further details from the coffee morning.

DROP INN CAFÉ LUNCHES: The ladies serve soup, sandwiches, tea and coffee in St Michael’s Hall on Tuesdays between 11.30am until 1pm.

ST MICHAEL’S AND ST WULFAD’S CHURCH: holds a Songs of Praise service to mark the end of Festival Week on Sunday evening at 6pm. Everyone is welcome.

SIGNPOST CENTRE, STONE: meets in the Frank Jordan Centre every weekday morning except Thursdays from 9.30am until 1pm. This is a drop-in centre for all and offers hospitality, te, coffee and toast. Help is also available with internet, job searches, and advice and guidance on a range of other matters. A new knit and natter group meets on Tuesday mornings from 10am until 12noon. There is space for more people to join in.

AGE CONCERN: Coffee mornings in the Coffee Lounge, 15 Station Road, on Tuesday and Friday mornings 9.45am until 11.15am. The Lunch Club meets at Bromfield Court on Thursdays, 11.45am until 1.30pm. On alternating Tuesday lunchtimes a group visits various local pubs. To book either, contact 01785 817906.
