Stone man wounded in stabbing incident

Simon Taylor, 35, of Bagots Oak, Stafford, appeared at Cannock Magistrates Court on Wednesday to face a charge of wounding with intent.

The 46-year-old victim is recovering at his home in Stone after being discharged from hospital.

He was taken to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire (UHNS) with a puncture wound following the incident on Monday.

Police received a report of an injured man in Priory Road, in Stone, at around 5.20pm.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance with non life-threatening injuries.

A spokesman for West Midlands Ambulance Service said: "On scene we had a BASICS doctor, an officer and an ambulance. We took the patient to the University Hospital of North Staffordshire."
