STONE sailor Sarah Norbury has boosted her chances of Great Britain selectio with an excellent performance at the 420 Winter Championships in Pwllheli.
In the event, the teenage sailor won the Ladies trophy after finishing second overall.
The championships were staged over two days in moderate winds, enormous waves and glorious sunshine.
Norbury and Mari Davies won two of the seven races sailed over the weekend and finished second in two others.
Such form enabled Norbury and Davies to establish a 20 point advantage over the next ladies boat.
It means they go into the next selection event for the British World Championship team, to be staged in Hayling Island this coming weekend, with a comfortable points difference.
Last month, Norbury picked up the U18 female sports performer of the year trophy for 2013, at the annual Sport Stafford Borough awards at the County Showground, Stafford.
