LOCAL cricket sides are looking set to secure a host of silverware in their respective cricket leagues with just three weeks of the 2013 season to go.
Clubs Little Stoke, Stone, Moddershall and Barlaston have all got good chances of clinching promotion and titles in the next few weeks after a good run of form in the area.
Stone firsts are currently in the driving seat at the top of the North Staffs and South Cheshire League Premier section but only have a three point gap overLeek.
Little Stoke firsts are holding on to the second promotion spot in the NSSCL division 1A, while Moddershall are awaiting any slip by their neighbours in third spot and are only seven points down.
Moddershall A firsts look set to return to the NSSCL at the first attempt as they currently sit undefeated at the top of the Stone and District Premier and need only one point from three matches to take the title.
The A team’s second string side are also enjoying a good season and sit joint top in division one of the Stone league along with Aston CC.
Barlaston seconds also have a chance of silverware in the NSSCL Premier B section as they occupy second spot, just three points behind leaders Audley.
South of the borough, Penkridge have secured promotion to the Birmingham League division two and Eccleshall have returned at the first attempt to the NSSCL division 2A.
