STAFFORD Badminton Club ended their league season on a successful note with the mixed A team winning their final match against Cannock 6-3.
Victory confirmed Stafford's place as champions of the Stafford and District Badminton League Mixed Division One.
A delighted captain Debbie Brackstone said: "It's been a fabulous season and to remain unbeaten is the icing on the cake."
The club's mixed B team also had a successful season winning the division two title and they have the chance to add further silverware if they can beat either Foley or Rugeley A in next month's Lewis Cup Final.
The club's venture into new territory this season by entering a ladies team in the highly rated North Staffs League has been deemed a great move says team captain Judith Turner.
"We knew it was going to be tough but we've had some great matches, enjoyed playing immensely and have shown the North Staffs we're no walkovers."
It was mixed fortunes for the club's other teams this season. The men's A team finished a creditable third in the league but the men's B squad found it a tough season although it was excellent to see the pairing of Richard Peers and Simon Matthews eventually break their duck in an exciting 5-4 win against Cannock.
