AWARD-winning artist Sue Prince is exhibiting at The Museum of Cannock Chase, telling stories of people and their places.
Inspired by Swedish folk art, her highly unusual works are pictorial stories about the rural and natural environment, created in egg tempera on linen and canvas. She has exhibited her work all over the world to great acclaim.
Whether rural or urban, she is fascinated by the way people are shaped by their work and how places are shaped by people.
In this new exhibition, Sue uses the patterns of brickwork, wood, stone, tools, industrial sites, and even clothing worn by people in their work, to tell the story of those people and their places. These telling details show the reality of how we fit into the world.
