POLICE are hunting a man who assaulted a teenage girl on an alleyway in Stafford.
The 16-year-old from Stafford was uninjured in the attack which took place last night at approximately 7.45pm.
The girl walking along an alleyway off Meadow Road, adjacent with the railway tracks, when a man approached her and assaulted her.
She is said to have become very distressed and run away.
The man is as aged 19-20, medium height and medium to slim build, wearing a black Adidas hooded top with a white logo on the front, white trainers and black gloves.
Inspector Rob Pilling, from Stafford Local Policing Team said: "Detectives have launched an investigation into this incident and we are supporting the young victim.
“It is likely there would have been people about in the area at the time and we would appeal to anyone who may have seen this man to come forward,” he said. “Local officers and Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) will be carrying out high visibility patrols in the area for reassurance.”
Inspector Pilling suggested that women who were alone take normal, sensible precautions and kept aware of their surroundings and said extra officers would be patrolling the area for reassurance.
