A POWER cut in Stafford yesterday left thousands of residents without power for several hours and one resident in the dark for nearly six hours.
A spokesman for electricity firm Western Power Distribution told the Newsletter the power went out to 2,733 homes in the Rowley Park area of Stafford just after 4pm yesterday (Monday).
“Around 400 of those customers had power restored within seconds,” she said. “The remaining customers were restored within the hour, all except for one customer whose power wasn’t restored until some time later.”
The lone customer was supplied with a generator while engineers worked to repair their power, restoring it finally around six hours later.
She said the power outage was due to a fault with an underground cable.
