A POLICEMAN’S lot is not a happy one? Don't believe it. And here's evidence any detective will accept - Stafford policemen having fun in their own concert party in 1975.

They included a ballad singer Bob Littlewood, who was actually a prison officer, but had been singing since he was a boy soloist in Chester. Bob, of Matthews Road, Highfields, was dubbed ‘Ol Blue Eyes’.

Another performer in the police concert party was PC Ray Ballard, of Mayfield Road, Baswich, a man of many voices including Frankie Vaughan, Ted Heath and Harold Wilson.
