STAFFORD folk are showing off their culinary expertise in the kitchen by sharing their recipes in a new book as well as giving a taster online with the Newsletter.
The cook book features recipes from some of Stafford’s prominent townsfolk, including the Bishop of Stafford and the Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire.
Other contributors include town crier Peter Taunton, the House of Bread charity and the Food for Thought cafe, as well as people from India, China and Kenya.
This week our website has already featured a taster of the book, with MP Jeremy Lefroy showing his recipe for spinach and ricotta tart, Lord Lieutenant Ian Dudson’s tips for making creamy chicken liver pate and a lemon meringue ice-cream by the Bishop of Stafford Geoff Annas.
Today’s recipe is for Grannie’s shortbread from Lady Harrowby of Sandon Hall, while tomorrow’s will feature borough councillor Malcolm Millichap’s recipe for braised belly pork.
The book has been compiled by Dee Turner and is on sale at La Creperie in Martin Street or by post from firstname.lastname@example.org.
