AN AWARD-WINNING Penkridge beautician is hoping to make up the numbers when a popular TV cookery show comes to Stafford next month.

Michelle Greatbatch, who owns Beauty Inc salon in Penkridge and lives in Stafford, made it down to the final ten of Channel 4’s Come Dine with Me and will find out today if she has been picked for the show.

“It was a pretty tough and nerve-racking experience but I think it would be so good to be on the show,” she said.

“Although I don’t think I could be horrible about anyone’s food to their face.” The filming for the Stafford episode of the programme starts on February 25, Hopefuls are waiting in anticipation to hear who has made the final cut.

Michelle considered applying for the show after her uncle received a letter from Channel 4 asking if he would like to take part in the programme or knew anyone who would be suitable.

He recommended her straight away because she is “outgoing, loves to cook and a is great laugh”.

Michelle said she had two potential menus to choose from if she made it onto the programme, a classic British menu or a Moroccan-themed one inspired from her time living there.

If she made it through to filming, it would be a double celebration for Michelle - her salon was honoured with a Best of Stafford award at a ceremony last week.
