A VILLAGE near Stafford is giving the Blackpool Illuminations a run for their money with its festive light display.
Haughton is famed for its Christmas lights, attracting visitors from several miles around. Preparations start several months before the big switch-on and each year the displays raise thousands of pounds for Midlands Air Ambulance and Katharine House Hospice.
This year’s switch-on was held on a soggy Saturday but rain failed to dampen the village’s Christmas spirit.
This year’s colourful displays include light-filled snowmen and penguins, an illuminated Nativity scene and Santas galore.
