Bill Roache's girlfriend can't keep up
Bill Roache's younger girlfriend can't keep up with his energy levels.
The 'Coronation Street' actor - who turns 80 later this month - amazes 43-year-old Emma Jesson with his active lifestyle and she can't work out how he manages to be on-the-go so much.
She said: "William Roache MBE is 80 years old and he doesn't look it. He runs rings around me.
"I don't know what his secret is but he's still got the schedule of a 30 year old... 5.30am starts and 10pm finishes. It's incredible."
Bill - who plays straight-laced Ken Barlow in the long-running ITV soap - recently confessed to sleeping with 1,000 women and Emma admits she couldn't resist him when they first met, and says people are always "drawn" to the actor.
She told 'Life Stories' host Piers Morgan in an interview airing tonight (13.04.12): "The first meeting was breathtaking.
"He's very charismatic and he's got this twinkle, everybody's very drawn to him."
Bill - who began dating Emma in 2010, 18 months after the sudden death of his second wife Sara - has admitted he "deeply" regrets his womanising ways, which saw him regularly cheat on his first wife Anna Cropper because he had no "control" over his sex drive.
Asked whether the number of women he had slept with was close to the figure of 1,000, he said: "Well, I'm not denying it. Looking back, I didn't know any better. But what I did find out is it does not bring you happiness and it is not the way to be.
"I had the opportunity, I indulged it and I can tell you this - it's not worth it. The pain that it caused, and there's all sorts of dangers. I regret it deeply. I had the opportunity, but that doesn't mean I should do it.
"I had rehearsals up in Manchester from Monday to Friday. The opportunity was there. There were plenty of girls around. I shouldn't have done it. I didn't have any control over my own sex drive. I didn't have the strength to control it."
